Ovidi Montllor Square, Badalona, Barcelona
In run-down and somewhat difficult surroundings, a radical plot clearing is proposed, eliminating a former glassware factory. The empty space is transformed into a square with two buildings facing each other, a health centre (CAP Progrés Raval) and a future municipal building.
The square will be the link between both buildings and lines on the paving will portray the relationship between these two façades standing face to face. A frame of circles (parterres and benches) recalls the former use of the factory and is superimposed onto a frame of ceramic lines which harmonise the square with the building façade.
By night the benches become large lamps which light up the space.
