FLOWERS AND PLANTS STAND ON THE RAMBLAS, BARCELONA

Project

This project won the tender of the city council of Barcelona. The design suggests protecting the flowers with a glass box which may be lifted up through an electric mechanism. A cellophane box protects orchids in the same way.

The daily set-up of the stand takes the same time the glass does to be lifted up.

The double height of the stand when it is open connects its scale to the surrounding buildings of the Rambla.
